Welcome to Gioielli by Sara - The Art of WireMy name is Sara Kottke and I am an Italian who has been transplanted in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, BC. The breathtaking views of nature that surround me inspire me to be creative.
I am a wire jewelry artist. If you were wondering, “Gioielli” is Italian for jewelry. I learned this ancient technique of wire wrapping, framing, weaving and wire crochet at workshops in Vancouver and Seattle. I am eager to discover and learn more about wire art and am always continuing my education in this fascinating art form. My jewelry is made in the old, time tested ways, without glue or soldering, just wire and basic tools! My favourite materials are gold filled wire 14/20, sterling silver wire, Argentium sterling silver, non-tarnish wire, semi-precious gemstones and Swarovski genuine crystals. In addition to my creations, I also teach wire classes. You can find me at different art shows. And for those who want an up close and personal look at my jewelry I do private home parties. Since a piece of jewelry is so unique, if you don’t see what you want, I do custom requests. I will also do minor changes free of charge.
